Dr José Azevedoe Silva - Dentist with special interest in Orthodontics

José graduated in Lisbon, Portugal in 2010 with an Integrated Master’s Degree in Dentistry, alongside a published clinical trial as part of his master’s thesis. After practising in Portugal for a year, he moved to the UK in 2011 and settled in Birmingham, where he has been practising general dentistry ever since. 

In 2014, José completed a course in Quick Straight Teeth, which sparked his passion for orthodontics. Since then, he has developed a strong special interest in this field, undertaking extensive postgraduate and advanced clinical training. This includes a Postgraduate Award (PGA) in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics at the City of London Dental School.

José now provides high-quality orthodontic care for patients of all ages. His treatments include comprehensive orthodontics with conventional metal braces, as well as more discreet options such as ceramic braces and clear aligners. He also has a particular interest in interceptive orthodontics, using functional appliances to guide jaw development during growth.

José believes that timing is key in orthodontic care, and that early intervention, when appropriate, can achieve the best functional outcomes while enhancing natural facial aesthetics.

Outside of dentistry, José enjoys an active lifestyle. Having grown up near the coast, he developed a love for the sea and water sports, particularly surfing and sailing. Now living in the beautiful British countryside, he spends his free time gardening, horse riding and swimming.
