BDS, BSc (Spec Dual Hons), M.Med.Sci (Oral Surgery), DipImpDent RCS (Eng) (Adv Cert), DipRestDent RCS (Eng).
Throughout my career I have developed a passion for Implant and Aesthetic Dentistry. I therefore embarked on further postgraduate training and education in Dental Implantology hosted by The Royal College of Surgeons of England and was successful in attaining this qualification at my first sitting I was also awarded the Advanced Certificate in Dental Implantology from the same college that recognises the candidate’s ability to carry out advanced procedures in Dental Implantology such as autogenous bone grafting from the symphysis or ramus and sinus grafting.
In recognition, I was then invited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England to tutor and mentor for their Implant Diploma based in Leeds and Germany and am currently tutoring my second cohort of students. I also act as an implant practice inspector for the college and enjoy many days inspecting colleague’s practices at home and as far away as Malta and Denmark.
In addition I have also been accepted as an examiner for both the Implant and Restorative Diploma based at the Royal College of Surgeons in London.
I’ve also attained the Diploma in Restorative Dentistry from the same college recently with an emphasis in Aesthetic Dentistry. This has allowed me to combine both disciplines of Implantology and Aesthetic dentistry to offer complete treatment to failing dentitions without the need for multiple in or out of house referrals in many cases.
With this training I’ve restored hundreds of patients with dental implants ranging from simple single units, multiple fixed bridge, full arch reconstructions using fixed bridge and over-denture technique. Intra-Oral Bone grafting techniques have allowed cases with minimal bone volume to be restored with dental implants.
Over the years I have carried out Dental Implantology I have found myself ever more enjoying education and mentoring of fellow dentists intending on an implant career. With this in mind I have set up an implant study club that provides implant education in an informal setting, hosted by myself and supported by local and national implantologists.
I have also developed a one to one mentoring service for interested dental practitioners where I will be able to guide the dentist from assessment, treatment planning through to surgical placement and restoration.
