Derbyshire Implant Study Club:

These study days are designed for the interested GDP who would like to gain knowledge regarding implant treatment either at a surgical or restorative level, in a relaxed informal setting. Its overall aim is to provide support for you and your practice in providing implants to your patients whether through referral, mentoring or via my visiting implant service where I can place implants at your practice. This will enable you to market implant work directly to your patients within your own practice setting.

With the GDC’s policy statement on Implantology and Training Standards in Implant Dentistry regarding implant treatment and ‘relevant postgraduate training’, with measured ‘competency standards’, It is ever more important to ensure that implant treatment is carried out by suitably trained individuals.

With this in mind I would like to use the study club as a foundation for implant training and mentoring to those practitioners who would like to get involved more in implant work. This can be a very useful local adjunct to any accredited implant course you may wish to attend at this time. Further one to one training and mentoring can be provided either at your practice or my own.
